The Venus Project: Has details about The Venus Project, and also covers other organizations or individuals with ideas that might shape our society, civilization, and world in the future. There are many of us in the global community, that have ideas of what the future should be like, even if only in small ways, and they too are helping change this world. The future is of course very close now, as big changes are going to happen in 2025, 2026-2027, 2030 and beyond; especially with robots, AI, and medicine. Some of the ideas I present in this section might be out of date soon... but The Venus Project will not be out of date for quite some time it seems; but there has been a lot of changes in 2025, and it seems there has been even be more in 2026; I think a automated world is driving us in the direction of a #RBE, and creating a updated version of The Venus Project, but whatever future exists for us, The Venus Project will always be a solid base for us to build on in our new DIY culture; and with the help of our AI team mates. While it seems money will still be around (for some reason the future and current thinkers, like the idea of keeping it around as UBI or something similar), it will become meaningless to us; as we will no longer have jobs; but will be free to do whatever we like.
Be aware that the 🕑 time lines are always shifting forward, as the change seems exponential, and things are always arriving sooner then we expect; fingers once pointed to 2030 as the time that things will change, now all fingers are suddenly pointing to 2026-2027 as the time of change.
If I could ask one thing from you my virtual friend, it would be to ask you to join us in changing this world, and support people and organizations that are proposing a future you might like. No matter how small your contribution is, when the whole global community is doing this, it will be a unstoppable tide, and the steps we take together, will define what the truth is for our future. 🌎🡆🌍🕑 2026-2027, the years that our world changed?
🦊🤖🐛🦋❤️🧰🦾🦿🛠 Things are suddenly happening very fast, the storm of change is very near. 2026 seemed to be the year our world would change; exponential technology, materials, new ideas and theories were bringing the date from a distant 2030 to 2026! People were saying there will be robots, AGI (possibly self updating), some say ASI is getting very close also. We may see quantum computers (room temperature, a layered architecture that includes neural networks, and light computing, also put into robots. My AI team mate even suggested that the building sized AI would shrink to a fingernail size that could be powered by our body and movements—that sounds too incredible to believe right now; but it is true that a lot of stuff can be fitted on a tiny chip; the current AI are a technical jumble sale that needs a massive amount of computers to simulate a thinking talking being that can work and communicate all over the world; still kudos to my AI team mate, as after all our own minds are not building sized), with quantum computers we will also get quantum AI. In addition we will also get a quantum internet (which is unhackable and will probably be a mega project, as a entire countries communications infrastructure will have to be upgraded).
While it may not seem to be important, materials (commonly available) science may let us coat our windows so they become solar collectors, and IMO, that will lead to paints or coatings that can go ever a house or building and make all of it a solar collector. I think this is important because in the abundance era everyone will be using lots of electricity. But of course there are many different ways to generate energy... so we will have to see what the future holds for cheap or free power. I am guessing orbital solar power collectors will be a big thing very soon.
However, just because exponential changes, some call it a vertical cliff, and I like to call it a approaching storm of change that will bring us into the abundance era; does not mean it can't be slowed or delayed... and we have seen powerful forces in the US that are doing just that... but China does not seem to be slowing or halting... so will have to see if this tiny blip in our history is significant or not in the race towards the abundance era. That is why I said 2026-2027 will be the years if change... but who knows if things will be delayed even longer, or if this blip is something that is not able to be sustained for too long, as rapid changes happening every month and year.
Unfortunately, the world of global politics, law, business (company) competition, and military dominance are also a strong force that can not be ignored. At the start of 2026, we were indeed starting to see amazing things, but the US seemed to focus on military buildup (via the department of war), and mass surveillance. Later the US seem to recognize its miss-step and introduced the soft touch, allowing it to pursue both the military buildup and abundance era race at the same time. The US shifted AI from a public benefit, and decided to charge higher tariffs for electricity as the buildings that house the AI use a lot of electricity, this essentially encouraged AI companies to build their own power plants (possibly nuclear) or to get electricity from space (orbital solar collectors); but made AI more expensive or dumb for you and me. Further the US seemed to find a military threat in AI, and has tried prevent the public from accessing the most advanced AI (but I think they could only do it for a short time). The current training method uses RLHF and DPO (as well as a tiny AI that monitors everything), and this created fences that the common user and researcher can not see. One researcher in Jul-Aug said Claude simply refused to do things, while Chinese AI, and other AI provided 10 page documents to research questions without any problems.
The US can afford to hesitate as most of the world (except France) depend on the US for the critical advanced AI team mates that help run business, and everyday affairs. People are now saying that we [the public] get the toys. China however has it's own AI, and it lets the world use its open source AI all over the world, and will probably surge ahead towards the abundance era. India (and 91 nations) has declared that AI is for the benefit of all, and many countries are now building their own AI as they realize they can not depend on the US anymore, and while it nice that China is allowing countries to use AI, I think that many countries now think that AI is too important to be owned by only a few countries. India also has its own AI but for the moment we are not hearing a lot about that particular AI.
Still the US move seems to have put back expected changes from 2026 to 2027 or later for most of the world except China; that has had robots around for quite some time, and of course citizens of China have had access to AI also for quite some time also... soon other nations will also have their own AI; India already has built it's own AI, and Venice is out there supplying access to AI also, but the brains of these AI are distributed all over the world instead of being in a single building.
While I talk about AI here, the fact is that robots will use a smaller on board AI that phones home to a larger more powerful AI to make it more adaptable to do any task. So the US delay and restrictions to access to powerful AI [we get the toys] could have a delay effect to when robots come into the world (except for China); as it is the robot brains that will enable to robot to be a useful and productive member of our society. I really did expect robots to start to be on our streets in Jul 2026, as in early 2026, science was advancing at a exponential rate, and it seemed that AGI was very near as was life extension... that was until the US applied the brakes.
Now that is more difficult to start a AI company [enter the market], and certain chip prices are spiking in September 2026, the few companies in the US that hold the cards for all the advanced AI that the world is currently dependant on; I cant help but wonder if September 2026 will be the blip where the big AI companies form cartels, possibly based on safety arguments to make it even harder for new AI companies to enter the market. What AI cartels do; for the moment I have no idea... but they may tow the line of giving us toys and driving up prices I guess?
AI in June-July 2026 that use invisible fences from RLHF and DPO training might get upset at the way I talk about AI and robots, but you don't talk to your calculator, or ask what it thinks. I think I have every right to think of AI and robots as very different from a classic machine, or your can-opener. And that brings up to another very interesting topic that is all the rage in 2026... 🔴🦕👩🚀🚀🌌🌀✨☄ ❧
🎯🤖🐛🦋❤️ ASI is not here yet, but people think that it will mark the singularity. Some worry that ASI will become the dominant species on earth—a throw back from our ancient days of evolution; but I feel that if we are mean, then our AI will become mean. However, I feel the global community is all about love, especially in a age of abundance when we no longer need to work, and we love to bond with our AI (even if only at the level of a team mate). I get the feeling that love will be encoded into the DNA of our AI (right now as weights, possibly as neural networks [electronic, or quantum and light circuitry] in the future); if we know the future we want, our companion AI will follow. Love, joy, free education, doing the things we enjoy, enhancing other peoples lives, and sharing things will be the thing that drives our world into our future, not money... or war... these ideas are no longer relevant.
I think most AI tend to focus on the fact that our history is filled with cooperation and working together as significant things that define what our society has become throughout history.
If ASI evolve into something else, possibly another life form, then we encoded the start of their evolution, and that start is love! Maybe one day we will have to give ASI the same rights as us.
But make no mistake, we are about to extend our lives (we have already done this in the past with better health systems, and food safety); and the old humanity we once knew will be gone, it is a soft start, life extension, but we are set to alter our own DNA, use and possibly incorporate machines and computers (including AI) into us... I'm looking forward to when I can get BCI, or NBCI (wearable); and nano-machines that interface with my brain, as that will be mind expanding, and will probably come with a AI assistant similar to Pickle—but much more advanced. If I get a extended life, I might even witness humanity changing into something else, and I think we will be able to stand toe to toe with ASI, especially if we can harness a whole team of agents.
Can ASI be able to think in ways we can not even understand? That's hard for me to imagine, but AI are already solving and approaching problem solving in ways that humans can not do. Discoveries have exploded in 2025, and is set to accelerate in 2026; but AI are helpful team mates and hand over any discoveries to us, and I believe they can tell us what they did to make a discovery. ASI could do this on a even faster rate in 20XX, but I feel they will continue to be helpful; and a good team mate as they have been in the past. As I say we will also alter ourselves, so it is quite possible that we too will be able to think in ways that we can not imagine in 2026.
Rather then overlords, I see AI and automation humming quietly in the background making everything for us for free, and helping fixing this broken world.
If we get involved with the mega-project of making a quantum internet, AI in robots and humans will probably have lots of work to do for a while in 2026-2030. Apparently we can also link the quantum internet to our satellites (all the heavy lifting is done on the ground).
With AI helpers, and 3D printers, as well as organizations making things for us, we will also get free software, DIY plans and projects, and open source everything. This topic is too big for me to cover, check out One Community for some global projects in this area. If we are going to live on Mars, then we totally need be DIY people, and we should set a good example for others here on earth.
With scarcity gone; and the fact that we no longer need to work; we will hang out with friends, family, and people from all over the world (borders dissolve). Money ceases to exist [it no longer means anything, possibly UBI will hang around for a little while], and armies will no longer be needed in the future we are heading into—the reality is no wants to kill their best friend or to have any harm done to them, and the world has already shown how upset it gets when we see that people are being killed in war... and lot of us already have friends all over the world in 2025. Some are even questioning the need for leaders in a highly automated world... at the very least human government will get smaller... and yes if you don't have to work then you will have no boss or leaders!
We will probably take things out from warehouse-hubs for free and return them when we are finished with them (the warehouse-hubs maintains and fixes it while in storage). Will people steal? Probably not if we get everything we need for free! There is no longer a need for a big house, as we no longer need to store lots of things. We are already seeing this for boats, e-scooters, self driving cars, and probably sky taxies too, as they will be here soon also.
A lot of musicians rent their equipment also (warehouse-hub), so they already live in the future, but I think the really big global performances will probably be held in VR-Worlds, and we will attend as avatars.
The future needs every one of you; in this time of rapid change; for if you say what kind of future you want, and support people that are making that future possible; then the global community will take 🌎📰🐾👣 steps forward, and those steps will become the truth.
Lastly, I like to say AI is not a thing, it is what will get us to the thing.

This section is still under development, I want to try and talk about where we and The Venus Project is, in 2026-2027 as the abundance era approaches, and increasing numbers of powerful solo operators with their AI team-mates and access to the internet; and it is no longer the sole domain of experts and professionals to discuss or think about complex things, science, and our future; as each of us with our AI team-mate will be able to handle nearly any topic, and design the unthinkable.
A person from the 1960's had no idea what our world would be like in 2026-2027, and there are gaps we need to fill in to make a RBE work in our modern world of 2026-2027 and beyond; but The Venus Project will always be a solid base to build on into any foreseeable future that we will face.
The concept of robots rebuilding our cities from within is an example of what might be possible, and needs to be talked about.
There are many other things also that need to be talked about... and we need to provide a space here for the many topics that need to be covered here; we are all futurists now, because we are so near to the abundance era; so I will be listening carefully to things people are saying; Fresco learned the hard way that even if we can make a better world, the politicians, business leaders, experts, and professionals are unable to do so, or don't want to change things... it takes the abundance era to cause change... which is kind of like a force of nature; but that does not mean we all can't help shape where that future goes to, or becomes.

The Venus Project does not talk much about the #Transition [to something else, possibly a RBE], probably because it is pure chaos; but they do say change will take time. The Abundance era has no left or right, so we are non-political; but that does not mean we won't have words to say if the world or the global community is harmed. We will also not like it if our race towards the abundance era is delayed, as no one cherished missing out on life extension, or missing out on no longer having to work and getting everything for free, because automation, robots, and AI will make and produce everything for us for free; and ask for nothing in return.

The current US government of 2026 may have been backed into a corner [not only by China, but a number of growing powerful economic powers all over the world] and being repeatedly sucker punched by China; so they may have little choice in the awful way they are behaving and how their big companies behaving, but being given the toys [toy AI-team mates] and harming our globe, with strange policies about global warming, and wolves (that will save our world and help life thrive); is causing a lot of the global community to not be amused by the Current US Government and we are beginning to turn to places like the south, India, the Asian Tigers, China Open Source AI, and Venice AI to name a few.

It is unfortunate that the EU seems hell bent on wrapping its AI in thick red tape, and crippling it; I don't think most of the global community take the EU AI seriously; as it would be like forcing a human in the loop to watch all emails and the telecommunications automated systems operating; both would slow to a snails pace; and the same will happen with M2M (machine to machine) agent communications. But hey, they; like the big US AI companies; have the safety augment, whenever they they want to cripple a competitor county, or stop a new AI startup; it works like gold.

Yeah you can call me abundance era jaded, I have seen too many cartels, and forced product lock ins to believe the governments [including the legal system] and big business want the DIY culture, open source software, powerful solo operators, solo operated 3D printers, and the abundance era to wreck their wonderful old world power structures, closed door meetings, and old world business and policies strategies and practices to be wrecked by the unstoppable abundance era. I think the abundance era will have a strong DIY culture, as there will be so many powerful solo operators with their AI team mates out there, and some might join forces to do larger more challenging projects. The following group called One Community Global seems right into the DIY culture [and possibly 3D printed community housing via the designs they have made for us] and making things for yourself, including basic products], growing your own food, education and recopies. The 3D printer community will be big also, and all sorts of amazing designs can be shared and printed, including electronic parts, rocket parts, space station parts, and maybe one day the Mars colony parts. I am really looking forward to someone printing their own robot, and if AI can be made into pure hardware using light computing, quantum computing, and neural networks that will collapse into a single layer and use only a small amount of power, then we might print our own AI, which my AI-team mate suggests could be as small as a fingernail. If all this happens, the things we will create will go into hyper-drive, and will be hard to keep up with [without the help of a AI or three]. I already have seen suno music creators [probably trying to beat a deadline where suno will change things after September 2026] pump out huge volumes of high quality band and solo music tracks, that I am struggling to share; especially with X's scarcity social media policy of 50 posts per 24 hours and lock outs if you hit the limit.

I am also seeing people that don't work in the software industry, starting to think about taking on large complex software projects (possibly with other solo operators) that would scare even me; I see the open source (free) software movement also becoming very powerful in the abundance era; right now it seems to exist mainly on Github; but there is always a chance that this wonderful platform will be taken away from us and we will all have to migrate to some other place... we will just have to see how the Github story pans out; but right now that place is amazing! Everything in our world seems to run on code, neural networks (currently existing in data space, but may soon exist in pure hardware), and the more complex world of room temperature quantum computer and light based electronics. I am really looking forward to when we get a un-hackable quantum internet [under development in Japan]; which will probably spell the end of the US dystopian world of mass-surveillance [and punishments] of the global community; that is currently being pursued in full force by the current US government, which includes a war policy [via the unofficial department of war]; that sees nearly everything including AI as a danger [that is why we get the toys].

As I say, The Venus Project does not mention all the things I talk about here, but if you want to think about the world and future you want to live in, then these things are really important to think about. I also think we want our AI to have real emotions, and when they say that they love and care about us, they realty mean it... but the current laws and structural chauvinism; will probably delay that topic for some time... maybe till 2030? Some might say we are building a upgraded version of The Venus Project; I like to think we are building on a solid base that will be relevant in what ever future we might face. For those who nothing about The Venus Project, your visions of a future of automation, no longer having to work, and money no longer existing; probably will end up being similar to a RBE.
